The Colonel Commandant,
Royal Army Pay Corps.
The Commandant,
Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps.
Alliance with Royal Army Pay Corps.
16
Sir,
I am to refer to conversations that have taken place
between yourself and the Command Paymaster, Hong Kong, on the
subject of an alliance of the Pay Section of the Hong Kong
Volunteer Defence Corps with the Royal Army Pay Corps and to
the request for such an alliance, submitted to the War Office
by the General Officer Commanding the British Troops in China
in his letter C.R.C.C. No.11955 (A) dated 27th May, 1938.
I consider that the close liaison which already
exists between the Royal Army Pay Corps in Hong Kong and the
Pay Section of the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps can be
cemented in no more suitable manner and have submitted your
request and my views thereon to His Royal Highness Prince
Arthur of Connaught, Colonel in Chief, Royal Army Pay Corps
who has been pleased to express his approval.
Will you therefore be good enough to submit an
official application through The Governor and Commander-in-
Chief, Hong Kong, for the alliance of the Pay Section, Hong Kong
Volunteer Defence Corps with the Royal Army Pay Corps.
I am, &c.,
(Sa.) J. C. Armstrong,
Colonel,
Colonel Commandant,
Royal Army Pay Corps.
